Focus: Machine Pieced Patchwork using rotary cutters and rulers, and sewing techniques on your machine. This course can be completed without hand sewing or templates.

Layer cakes can contain hidden surprises – a package of 10” squares of a coordinating range of fabric – 42 of them.  By adding a simple contrast fabric, we can end up with a queen bed topper using just one layer cake – another perfect gift quilt that is easy to finish.  What is more, it can be quilted using straight line quilting for a fast finish.

Level of skill required for this workshop: No previous experience with machine piecing for quilting required; suitable for beginners and those wanting to expand or review their skills, or learn a design that can be completed relatively quickly.

This workshop will develop the following skills: • Working with pre-cut fabrics • Cutting fabric accurately using a rotary cutter, ruler and mat • Setting up your machine for piecing fabric • Stitching an accurate ¼” seam • Pressing and ironing fabric • Matching seams for a perfect join
