Our Machine Service Guide
Canberra Sewing has been servicing sewing machines and overlockers in the Canberra region since 1993.
Our approach to caring for your machine is professional and positive. We know how much our customers love their machines and want to help keep them in the best working order possible. If any parts are required, there will be an additional cost for the part and the instalation. Permission will be sought prior to parts instalation. When the machine is brought in to be serviced or repaired, a non-refundable deposit towards the standard service cost is required. If the machine is not servicable (cannot be fixed) after our checks and inspection, the deposit covers the time taken to work on the machine. On the spot assistance, including threading is available for a fair fee, depending on the time involved. We will supply and complete our “Service Repair Report” which is a detailed summary of all our work, including the checks, adjustments and repairs performed.

Counter Service- Quick Check!
Check to see if it’s time for a service, or grab some quick advice! Threading or tension issues, user errors, re-threading of overlockers, or a quick discussion of what’s wrong with your machine! This expert assistance might get you through your project, before the full service!

Standard Service Deposit
A $50 deposit is paid when booking your machine in, applies to all machines and is non-refundable. The deposit is included in standard service price.

Standard Service
We open covers, inspect, check functions, clean, lubricate, adjust and fix as required.
We then confirm with sew tests that your machine is ready to sew!
We’ll give you a call as soon as your machine is ready.

Firmware Upgrade
Check for latest version and update if required. This will mean your machine is up-to-speed and ready to sew!

Embroidery Module
We open the covers, clean, lubricate, check functions, adjust as required. We then confirm the machine is 100% with embroidery tests and call you to let you know to warm up your projects!

Embroidery only Machine
We open covers, inspect, check functions, clean, lubricate, adjust and fix as required. We confirm with embroidery tests, admire the wonderful machine you have, call you to let you know you’re ready to finish your project and bring smiles to the house!

Standard Service Multi-needle
We service Brother brand multi-needle embroidery machines. We open the covers, inspects, adjust as needed, oil the moving parts, pop the covers back on, and sew test ready for you to embroider!

Overlocker Domestic
Open covers, inspect, check functions, clean, lubricate, adjust and fix as required. Confirm with sew tests.

- We warrant our work performed and any new parts supplied for a period of three months.
- Please retain your Service Report at least for the warranty period of three months.
- Machines and goods left in our care are not insured or covered for fire or theft or any other loss.
- Machines not claimed after 6 months may be sold without notice to recover our costs.
Our warranty does not cover globes, threaders, blades, cords, foot controls, caught or tangled threads due to incorrect threading, the incorrect use of a threader, problems due to operator error, any breakages due to operator misuse or by unauthorised repairs.
