Merry & Bright: Designing Christmas Table Runners with Leonie Fraser

Date: Friday, 18th October and Saturday, 19 October, 2024

Time: 9:30am setup for a 10am start, finishing at 2:30pm

Focus of this workshop: Machine Appliqué

This joyful runner is constructed in smaller parts so that you will be able to choose the words and pictures that you want to include. You can tailor the words and pictures to suit your family and the themes of your celebration.

Leonie will have alphabets and a variety of pictures that you can include on your table runner to personalise it – or you can bring some shapes that you like to include.

Level of Skill for this workshop: Suitable for all levels of experience with machine appliqué.

This workshop will develop the following skills:
• Understanding machine appliqué techniques using clear polyester and decorative embroidery threads.
• Using the correct materials and techniques to achieve a pleasing result in your appliqué.
• Managing machine appliqué techniques for satin stitch, buttonhole and raw edge appliqué.
• Using straight line quilting to consolidate the layers of a runner.
• Applying binding to finish a project.

You will be provided with patterns for the letters and a variety of Christmas themed patterns to use
during the class.
