Focus of this workshop: Foundation Piecing
Foundation Piecing lets you sew pictures in your quilts while you are piecing them to achieve some fun effects. In this class you will have a choice – Christmas trees, Santa, candles, bells or stars – you choose how your runner will add joyful decoration to your home.
If you have tried foundation piecing in the past and found it frustrating, this workshop will explore techniques to avoid problems and make the process easy so that you can enjoy the sewing and complete your table runner with minimal stress.
Level of skill required for this workshop: Suitable for beginners and all levels of experience with foundation piecing.
This workshop will develop the following skills:
- Understanding machine foundation piecing techniques
- Choosing a layout and the order in which to complete the picture or pattern being sewn
- Using straight line quilting to consolidate the layers of a runner
- How to apply binding to finish a project.
You will be provided with a variety of Christmas themed patterns to use during the class.
