$135.00
Date: 30 June 2023
Times: 9.30 am to 3.30 pm
This is a great one day workshop that’s a part of a number of one day courses that Anne Maree has developed.
These one-day workshops are designed to give all participants the opportunity to create a beautiful quilt some simple blocks from fabric from your stash or from pre-cut quilting fabrics.
The Carpenter Star quilt has a lot of visual impact but is actually very simple to create and so this workshop is suitable for the beginner right through to more seasoned quilters.
For beginners, this workshop will help you develop the following skills:
Using a Rotary Cutter
Choosing fabric designed for your quilt for different impacts.
Piecing your quilt and getting accurate seam allowances
Matching points
Guidance on quilting and finishing your quilt.
Depending on the day, some participants may not complete the whole quilt during the day – you will certainly have the skills you need to be able to finish at home.
Fabric squares can be made from one fabric or up to eight different fabric prints for many different fabrics, but it’s recommended that you try and stick to one “type” of fabric. E.g. all batiks or from a particular story or black, white and red, blue and greens.
This is a wonderful pattern to use up your scraps however try and stay away from diagonal prints as they may prove distracting.
This is a great relaxed social session which you will get a lot from. Meet other like minded students and receive tailored advice from an expert.
