Children’s Beginner Sewing Class – Shorts – with Kerry Turner

Times: 10am to 12pm (9.30am setup)

Cost $50 + $25 Kit (Pattern included in kit)

There is also an option of hiring a sewing machine from the shop. The cost will be $15 for two days. You will need to ring the shop (6281 7555) prior to the class and pay for the hire on the first day when you arrive.

This class is aimed at a beginner from age 10-16 who has some knowledge of sewing or a quick learner. During class the student will make a pair of shorts (PJ or day wear), with elastic waist and back patch pockets.

The student will  be cutting out their own pattern, taking simple measurements for fit.

Pockets will depend on the students’ level of skill.

Techniques learned will  be using a sewing machine, measuring, working with patterns, and the importance of seam allowances..
