Children’s Beginner Sewing Class – Book Bag – with Kerry Turner – 16 & 17 January 2024

Dates: Tuesday & Wednesday 16 and 17 January 2024

Times: 1 to 3pm (12.30pm setup)

Cost $50 + $25 Kit

There is also an option of hiring a sewing machine from the shop. The cost will be $15 for two days. You will need to ring the shop (6281 7555) prior to the class and pay for the hire on the first day when you arrive.

This class is designed to teach you the fundamentals of sewing and is aimed at beginner sewers aged between 8 and 16 years.

During the class students will make a basic bag, which will be constructed from multiple strips of fabric. The bag will be lined and have a handle.

The class will help students to discover and control their machines.

If the student  received a machine for Christmas this is a great class to get to know that machine.

Techniques learned will  be sewing straight lines, seam allowances, bag lining and how to make a bag strap.

A materials list will be supplied on registration.
