Easy Sew Pouches with Leonie – Friday 24 April 2026

Focus of this workshop: Working with zippers and finishing techniques. Possibility of using cork and vinyl for pouches.

These cute pouches are fully lined without raw seams showing and without binding anywhere! Each takes a couple of hours to complete and we will make one of each in the session – perfect gifts for Mother’s Day! If you choose to make from vinyl, suitable for makeup or small toiletries. Made from fabrics, they can be used for treasures, craft supplies or special treats. Gather together your favourite pieces of special fabrics and let’s get started!

Level of skill required for this workshop: Suitable for beginners and experienced quilters wanting to refresh their skills.

This workshop will develop the following skills:
• Placing zippers and finishing their placement as a feature of a pouch.
• Choosing fabrics that will contrast and complement each other in your finished work
• Cutting fabric accurately using a rotary cutter, ruler and mat
• Cutting from a pattern template using scissors
• Setting up your machine for piecing fabric
• Applying interfacing and pressing interfaced fabric.
