Ready to start your sewing journey? Join Kirstie—our wonderful instructor who has been teaching beginner sewing at CIT Solutions and has now been inspiring makers at Canberra Sewing for over a year. We’re thrilled to have her sharing her passion and expertise with our community!

Kirstie’s Beginner Sewing Class is designed especially for absolute beginners. She’ll guide you step-by-step through the basics: getting comfortable with your machine, winding bobbins, adjusting stitch lengths, finishing seams, and more. Along the way, you’ll create two gorgeous projects—a stylish tote bag and a handy zip pouch—perfect for showing off your new skills.

This fun and friendly course runs over six weeks, with each session lasting three hours. By the end, you’ll feel confident, capable, and excited to take on more sewing adventures.
